“He is a quiet professional. He goes out. He does his job. He does what is right for the community,” Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District General Manager Dave Mauk said of County Fire Marshal Jason Rutherford.During a special meeting Thursday, Jan. 16, the BCRAGD Board of Directors presented Rutherford the Award for Excellent Environmental Stewardship to the Community.Praising his professionalism, Mauk complimented Rutherford as a seasoned investigator who goes above and beyond the call of duty.“When he’s out in the field…if he sees something that’s of environmental concern, he calls us. He is boots on the ground. He finds ways to mitigate threats…before they become a problem,” Mauk said. “The community…the county is lucky to have him.”
