If you’re headed to the beach, know what the local flag warnings mean

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you plan on heading out to the beach this week for Spring Break, pay close attention to the beach flag warning system which provides updates on water conditions.
Adult swimmers are advised to go no deeper than waist level, while children and non-swimmers should stay along the shoreline.
Another reminder: Rip currents can still be present, even on low-risk days.
Beach cameras also are available online so Spring Breakers can check out water conditions before they head out to the beach.
