ALPINE, Texas (KOSA) - More details have been shared about the crash that killed one man and seriously injured a DPS trooper in Alpine.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on June 23 at 7:36 a.m., a GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving west on U.S. 67 and a Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle was driving east on U.S. 67.

For an unknown reason, the driver of the GMC - 28-year-old Erik Alberto Hernandez from Monahans - crossed into the other lane and crashed into the Chevrolet, according to DPS.
