COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The June 6 weekend hosted two major sports events, which brought an influx of visitors and millions of dollars to Aggieland.

Summertime is generally a slow time in Bryan-College Station, which is why big events like the FIFA soccer friendly and USA Track and Field Lone Star Grand Prix are so important.

Both events were held on the same day, which helped boost the local economy.
