Houston Mayor John Whitmire will hold a news conference Tuesday morning to discuss the city's preparedness efforts and plans as Tropical Storm Eduardo approaches the area.

The briefing will begin at 11 a.m. Whitmire will be joined by the City of Houston Office of Emergency Management and public safety officials.
