TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Troup man died after crashing while speeding Saturday on FM 2064 in Cherokee County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS spokesperson Chris Williamson said a preliminary investigation revealed that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound "at an unsafe speed" when it left the roadway and struck a tree before catching fire.

Williamson identified the driver as Guadalupe Moreira, 18, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
