MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) - A long-planned water infrastructure project in Marlin is facing a major setback after a delayed City Council vote led a developer to withdraw its proposal.
The Brushy Creek Reservoir, a project decades in the making, has been pitched as a secondary water source for the city - and one that could also bring seasonal flood relief.
Marlin Mayor Susan Byrd said the reservoir could help address two pressing issues: water shortages and the city's economic decline."You can live with potholes, you can live with a lot of things, but you can't live without water for more than three days," Byrd said.
