MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - Midland County Commissioners Court has approved the creation of a new Geographic Information Systems (GIS) coordinator position within the county's Road and Bridge Department, to strengthening how the county manages infrastructure, development and public service data.

According to the press release, the new GIS coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing and maintaining Midland County's GIS platforms and related programs.

GIS technology is used to help organize and analyze location-based information, including roads, plats, utilities, infrastructure assets and other development-related data.
