DENISON, Texas (KXII) - It's not your average summer camp.

Inside Denison's Frontier Village, children took a field trip straight into the past."They get to try things that they've never had experience doing before," said Camp Director Heather Boykin.

Boykin has been a teacher for nearly three decades, but she felt something was missing from they way history was landing with children."I wanted to be able to give our kids an opportunity to put their hands on the actual items that people might have used back in the 1850s, 1880s," Boykin said.
