HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Harris County deputy is recovering after authorities said she was hit while on the scene of a separate crash where a woman was struck and killed, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

The scenes unfolded on Thursday night in north Houston near Old Bammel Road and Highway 249.

Authorities said a man in a Cadillac was driving near Highway 249 when he allegedly struck a woman, who police said was not in a crosswalk at the time.
