Houston police were called to an apartment complex parking garage in the 8800 block of Westheimer Road around 11:45 p.m. Saturday after a report of a person down, authorities said.

Officers arrived minutes later and encountered an armed man standing over an unresponsive person who appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.

One resident, Michael, said he was headed out for work when the scene erupted.
