On Saturday, Oct. 31, an Air Force contractor was arrested in Comal County on charges of mishandling of classified documents and possession of firearms on Joint Base San Antonio, according to U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons for the Western District of Texas.

In April 2025, 47-year-old Zachry Wade Carroll of San Antonio allegedly lost a classified document relating to national defense and failed to promptly report it to his superior officer, according to an indictment.

The indictment also includes charges alleging that Carroll knowingly possessed a loaded.
