SeaWorld San Antonio is taking beluga whales that have been stuck in limbo at a shuttered marine park.

Credit: Wikimedia Commons Even as two beluga whales arrived at SeaWorld San Antonio this week as part of an international effort to relocate animals from a shuttered marine park in Canada, animal rights activists warn the move should serve as a cautionary tale - not cause for celebration.

"These transfers are not evidence that the system worked. They are evidence that the governments and the industry waited until there were virtually no good options left," Lori Marino, president and founder of the Nova Scotia-based Whale Sanctuary Project, said in a statement.
