The Hill Country Arts Foundation will host ceramics workshops in October, including a four-week Basic Wheel Throwing class taught by David Howard.

The class meets Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The course serves beginners with no previous experience throwing ceramics on the wheel.

The first part of the course emphasizes the mechanics and workings of the wheel and tools, along with the clay students will use.
