WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Special agents with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety conducting surveillance in a "high-crime area" at Franklin and South 26th Street arrested a pair of men after witnessing a drug deal.

Peter Darnell Smith, Jr., 37, is charged with two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and endangering a child, according to court documents and online jail records.

He is being held at the McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $250,000.
