During Tuesday afternoon's meeting, the Brownwood Municipal Development District Board of Directors approved providing up to $100,000 in funding for a standard fitness court, or $150,000 for a studio fitness court, to be installed at Cecil Holman Park.

The BMDD has $460,000 in its budget for parks improvements for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

The City of Brownwood has already been approved for a $60,000 grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Campaign through the National Fitness Campaign, and $53,000 is anticipated from a sponsor yet to be revealed.
