LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Big Texan is partnering with a South Plains meat processor to deliver its famous 72-ounce steak nationwide.

The Amarillo restaurant is expanding into the mail-order beef industry and chose Pope Meat Company, a small family-owned business in Lockney, for the venture.

The Lee family opened the cowboy-themed restaurant in 1960 on Route 66, where the 72-ounce steak challenge was born.
