Both directions of I-10 at Garth Road are expected to close early on Sunday morning due to electrical work, CenterPoint says.

Officials said the temporary closure is expected from 12 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, affecting all the east and westbound lanes of the interstate, including the feeder roads.

Centerpoint said crews will be removing overhead lines as part of its efforts to "strengthen reliability and support growing energy demand." CenterPoint added that the freeway light near the work will be out from 10 p.m. on Saturday to 4 a.m. on Sunday.
