LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin announced it closed Herty Park until Thursday as city workers remove unusable playground equipment.
The city's Parks and Recreation Department plans to replace the playground equipment "in the near future," according to a press release.
The city asks for the public to avoid the park, located at 400 McHale St. in Lufkin, until the work is completed.
