The petition to remove County Judge Daniel Jones from office was dismissed by Regional Presiding Judge Kirsten Cohoon on Friday, Oct. 23.

Gillespie residents Bruce Neitzke and Esther Schneider had filed a petition in the 216th District Court on Oct. 14 for the removal of Jones from office, alleging that Jones had failed to comply with state requirements for the examination of the county treasurer's reports.

Cohoon took the case when 216th District Judge Albert Patillo recused himself.
