Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District trustees will hear a presentation June 8 on end-of-course STAAR results from 2023 to 2026 showing marked declines across most grades and subjects.

Juan Hinojosa STAAR is Texas' standardized assessment to measure students' academic progress, and they are a large factor in state accountability ratings - which UCISD failed last year.

The report, published with the board's agenda, shows math scores decreased across most grade levels in 2026, and reading and language arts declined in grades 3 through 6.
