GRIMES COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - A young father has died, and his wife and two small children are recovering from serious injuries following a crash Friday evening in Grimes County as the family was returning home from a Halloween event.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the man who died as 23-year-old Thomas Mahon, a native of Longview, Texas, also known as Dalton.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, on Highway 30 in Roans Prairie.
