Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District's board of trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 to consider joining a class action lawsuit to "recover damages due to youth social media usage and addiction." The district would enter the suit on a contingent fee basis, meaning the district would not pay an hourly or upfront cost.

Instead, the district's attorneys would take a percentage of the total amount recovered.

Generally, plaintiffs don't owe the attorneys anything if they lose the case.
