(KGNS) - The United Independent School District is considering a $30 million loan from PNC Bank as its unassigned reserves are projected to fall to as little as $2 million by the end of the month - a fraction of the roughly $37 million the district spends each month to operate.
Administrators attributed the budget crisis to stagnant state funding, declining student enrollment and rising health care claims.
