Law enforcement emphasizes school zone safety as classes resume

Law enforcement in Denison ISD emphasizes the importance of driver caution and safety in school zones as the new school year begins.

DENISON, Texas (KXII) - It's imperative for drivers to take extra caution when navigating school zones now that class is back in session.

Everyone's excited for the new year at Denison ISD, but with that comes an emphasis on safety."Especially our new drivers and kids walking to school on various campuses around the city," said Denison ISD Police Chief Paul Neumann.

According to TxDOT, there were 877 traffic accidents inside Texas school zones in 2025.
