Author Wanda J. McLaughlin, a resident of Ingram, will be at the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library, 505 Water St., from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, to discuss her new novel, "Fowl Deeds," the first book in a "cozy mystery" series set in a fictional town in Arkansas.

Friday's event will offer the opportunity to meet the author, purchase signed copies of the book and learn more about the upcoming series.

Light refreshments will be served.
