(KGNS) - Disability advocates in Laredo are urging local businesses to hire workers with disabilities permanently rather than offering practice runs.

Members of the Blue Ribbon Committee said local schools are expanding job training.

The Laredo Independent School District recently opened its RISE Academy to teach students culinary, retail, and logistics skills.
