Uvalde City Council's District 5 race is headed to a run-off, with just 18 votes separating the two leading candidates and 187 voters leaving the contest blank in the Nov. 3 general election.

Jo-Anna Kruse led the unofficial results with 371 votes, followed by Vincent Salazar with 353.

Two additional ballots were invalidated in the race because voters selected more than one candidate.
