HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Days after shots were fired during a "teen takeover" in Discovery Green over the weekend, park officials announced that they would be closing the park early and canceling events this Saturday.

PREVIOUS REPORT: Six arrested in connection to weekend 'teen takeover' in downtown Houston, police say Discovery Green officials said on Friday that the park will be closing at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the behest of the Houston Police Department.

According to Discovery Green's website, the park normally closes at 11 p.m. every day unless noted otherwise.
