DES MOINES, Iowa (FOX 9) - The 2026 midterm elections shifted Iowa's political balance, as Democrats flipped the governor's office, an open U.S. Senate seat and three congressional districts.

Meanwhile, Republicans maintained control of the state legislature.

The results end nearly a decade of unified Republican control in Iowa and establish a divided state government.
