Jordan Merchant was arrested in 2022 after a crash that killed Joni Smith and her nine-year-old son Conrad Thomlison near 114th St. and Indiana Ave. Smith was taken to UMC with serious injuries where she later died.
Investigators said Smith was driving north on Indiana Ave. when she attempted to make a left turn.
