LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Austin attorney Brian Sledge went in front of the Gregg County Commissioners on Tuesday to request the county to join with other counties in the region in an effort to get a legislatively created groundwater conservation district.

Sledge said it's a matter of time before they tap into the groundwater resources in Northeast Texas.

"I'll tell you, it's just a matter of time with all the new data center growth and things like that. We're looking for large supplies of water to support it," Sledge said.
