It's called direct primary care, a model built around longer visits, easier access to your physician and a more direct relationship between doctor and patient.

Instead of using insurance for routine visits, patients pay a monthly membership fee for primary care services."It's kind of a new model but it's also an old model. So, it kind of goes back to just care between you and your doctor and there's not insurance in between," said Dr. Coby Robins, MD at Nest Pediatrics.
