MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies said a search is underway after a Liberty County jail inmate escaped custody at an emergency room in Kingwood on Saturday morning.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said it was requested to help the Liberty County Sheriff's Office after the inmate, identified as 31-year-old Yorlan Reyes, escaped custody.

Reyes was last seen leaving the emergency room on foot after 5:15 a.m., wearing an orange jail jumpsuit, orange Crocs, and white boxers, authorities said.
