HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A maintenance worker at a Houston motel was shot multiple times after police said he told a group of people to leave the property.

The shooting happened after midnight Sunday in Houston's south side on Old Spanish Trail at La Salette Street, the Houston Police Department said.

Officers said they responded to a call about a shooting and found a maintenance worker in his late 50s with multiple gunshot wounds.
