University of Texas at Tyler and other East Texas organizations are hosting Patriot Day events on September 11 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Several organizations are putting on Patriot Day events around East Texas to honor the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb: The University of Texas at Tyler is hosting its annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Friday, Sept. 11.

Date: Friday, September 11, 2026Time: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Drop-in format)Location: Herrington Patriot Center Basketball Gym, UT Tyler campus4th Annual Patriot Day Golf Classic: Operation True North is hosting the event which features breakfast, 18 holes of golf and a keynote speech from retired U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Will Summers, whose Green Beret service post-9/11 inspired the film 12 Strong.
