A 23-year-old woman's 1983 murder has yet to be solved, but thanks to a larger-than-normal reward offer, the Guadalupe County sheriff is hopeful new information will soon help crack the case.

Sheriff Joshua Ray recently made a public plea for information in the July 1983 killing of Dilia Hernandez Soto, and Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers followed that by offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the crime.

The combination could help turn up something to identify Soto's killer, Ray said.
