The public is cordially invited to Bringing Back the Texas Horned Lizard - The Science of Saving One of Texas' Most Iconic Reptiles, a special presentation by TCU doctoral researcher Kira Gangbin on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Goldthwaite Pavilion at the Texas Botanical Gardens & Native American Interpretive Center, Inc., 1219 Fisher Street, Goldthwaite, Texas.

For generations, the Texas horned lizard-often affectionately called the "horny toad"-was a familiar sight across much of the state.

Today, however, the species has disappeared from many areas due to a combination of habitat loss, changes in land use, invasive fire ants, and other environmental pressures.
