A Kendall County man is dead after a brief standoff with Kendall County Sheriff's Office deputies Wednesday morning.

Deputies responded to a call at 4:55 a.m. in the 100 block of the Bent Tree Subdivision after receiving calls about a make subject standing in the roadway in his underwear, brandishing a weapon.

While deputies were responding, dispatch advised that the caller reported the suspect, later identified as Austin Hodo, had fired a shot in his direction.
