NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - SFA announced Monday that head coach Colby Carthel will remain in Nacogdoches through the 2031 season.

Carthel spoke about the extension at his weekly press conference on Monday.

"It's awesome. First of all, you know, greatly appreciate, you know, President Weaver, Michael McBroom and their commitment not to me, but to our program. And, you see what's going on. A lot of people were able to see it this weekend at homecoming, just the master plan. It's not just about football or athletics. It's about the whole thing. I mean, this university is ascending," Carthel said.
