TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A friendly but fierce food drive rivalry has taken over two Tyler middle schools as they compete in an annual "pantry raid" with East Texas Food Bank.

Hubbard Middle School and Three Lakes Middle School are battling to see which campus can collect the most food donations by Sept. 2."We kind of started this friendly rivalry to get the middle schools involved," said Hubbard Middle School Principal John Smiley, noting previous competitions were between Tyler ISD high schools.

Now in its second year, the competition has upped the stakes."This year, the challenge is the losing team, or the losing campus, will have to fly the other campus's flag for an entire week," Smiley said.
