CENTER, Texas (KTRE) - Shelby County Commissioners approved a $1,500 HVAC project Wednesday for the AgriLife Extension building in Center, where two new sewing rooms have drawn packed classes for adults and children.
County Extension Officer Feleshia Thompson appeared before Commissioners Court to request the new unit, saying it would support the program as it grows and protect expensive machinery from damage.
Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the project."I mean, there are so many times I wish I paid more attention to my mom's sewing," said Shelby County Judge Allison Harbison before calling the vote."All in favor say aye - all opposed." No opposition was recorded.
