LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - CHRISTUS Health awarded five Longview nonprofits a total of $300,000 in grants during a Blessing of the Hands ceremony Thursday.

The Blessing of the Hands ceremony happened at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

They started the donations fifteen years ago and feel part of their mission to extend their resources into the community to help the nonprofits to help others."We call this the CHRISTUS Impact Fund because we think it makes an impact in communities where we have a presence. And we just think it's important to display that partnership. Often times people think the work that we do, because we're faith based, we're obviously involved in heath care, but it's more than that. We're going to be very involved in the communities," Hancock said.
