CUSHING, Texas (KTRE) - The Cushing Bearkats matched their win total from last season in the first four weeks of the 2026 Texas high school football season.

Cushing lost its first game of the season to Grapeland.

Head coach Josh Moore said his team learned from the loss."Sometimes you know you find out a lot about yourself when you lose. We've learned a lot from it. Don't know what we can't do in the end of game like that and things that we need to build on," Moore said.
