A woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross Highway 249 Thursday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened around 10:32 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 249 and Old Bammel North Houston Road.

Investigators said a Cadillac sedan was traveling southbound on Highway 249 when the driver passed through the intersection and hit a woman who was running eastbound across the roadway.
