Southwest Texas College honored retirees, recognized employee achievements and celebrated service milestones May 1 during its annual Dean's Breakfast.

College president Hector Gonzales recognized 12 retirees whose careers at the college spanned from nine to 27 years.

The retirees included Kirk Palermo, who served nine years; Alfredo Hernandez and Josephine Mendez, 10 years each; Dale Gear, 11 years; Yolanda Yvette Mirelez, 13 years; Cynthia Martinez, Teresa H. Zamarrippa and Rosa M. Rodriguez, 17 years each; Richard Davis Jr., 20 years; Hector Rivera, 22 years; Juanita Reed, 26 years; and Dr. Mark Underwood, 27 years.
