The Big Spring City Council will meet Tuesday evening in a wide-ranging session that includes economic development planning, infrastructure improvements, and early discussion of the city's upcoming budget cycle.

Council members will consider a first reading of an ordinance approving a project and financing plan for Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Two, a development tool aimed at encouraging reinvestment in targeted areas of the city through structured financing and long-term planning.

In addition, the council is expected to take up a resolution supporting the nomination of designated census tracts within Big Spring for Opportunity Zone status.
