Stacy Moore's decision to become a teacher occurred later in life, and her career started in another state, but she's found a home near where she grew up - at Brownwood's Northwest Elementary.

"I have always loved children, but I decided to become a teacher shortly after my husband and I married and had children," Moore said.

"Both of my kids have learning difficulties and as I began to learn how to better help them, that led me into the teaching profession." Preparing for her 18th year in the profession, Moore currently teaches fifth grade Reading and Language Arts at Northwest.
