LAREDO, Tex.
(KGNS) - Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevio has activated the city's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as rising Rio Grande floodwaters dislodge 10 buoys, sending them to both the American and Mexican sides of the river.
Trevio said flooding is the primary concern and described the city's response as "all-hands-on-deck." He urged residents in the Azteca neighborhoods and downtown to stay away from the river's edge and warned against attempting to retrieve any objects floating in the water, including the buoys."People are the top priority," Trevio said.
