After months of raising concerns directly with the Public Utility Commission (PUC), Spiller signs amicus brief urging Commission to evaluate overall need before making irreversible decisions affecting rural landowners and ratepayers AUSTIN - State Representative David Spiller (R-Jacksboro) announced that he has joined 42 fellow Texas legislators in signing an amicus brief before the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) requesting that the Commission review the proposed 765-kV transmission buildout as a whole before making determinations on any individual project.

The amicus brief supports a motion filed by American Stewards of Liberty for limited procedural relief.

It does not seek to stop the projects entirely, but rather asks the PUC to determine whether all five 765-kV projects are truly needed before any individual determinations are made.
